1. Spelled porridge on the water







Spelled is an ancient type of wheat that originated in the fifth millennium BC. e. In Russia, they learned about spelled by the X-XI centuries. They baked bread from it, made delicious porridge and simply simmered it in the oven. Regular consumption of spelled porridge helps to improve the functioning of the digestive system, normalize the nervous, endocrine and cardiovascular systems, reduce the risk of developing oncological diseases, and strengthen the body's defenses. Today we will learn how to cook a simple spelled porridge in water, the recipe for which was especially popular in Russia. This porridge turns out to be satisfying and tasty.



Ingredients for 1 serving:



  • 80 g dry spelled;

  • 300 ml. water for soaking;

  • 300 ml. cooking water;

  • salt, spices (to taste);

  • vegetable or butter (to taste).


Step 1. Thoroughly rinse the spelled and fill it with clean water. We leave it overnight or at least 4 hours.





Step 2. Rinse the soaked spelled again, transfer it to a saucepan, pour 300 ml. water and set on maximum fire. When the water boils, we reduce the heat and cook the cereal for 30 minutes. No need to stir.





Step 3. As soon as all the water has boiled away and is absorbed into the cereal, remove the pan of porridge from the spelled from the fire, add your favorite spices, salt or sugar, and oil. We serve tasty and healthy spelled porridge on the table.

2. Spelled porridge with vegetables







Ingredients for 3 servings:




  • 160 g dry spelled;

  • 500 ml water for soaking cereals;

  • 700 ml. extinguishing water;

  • 80 g of cauliflower;

  • ½ medium bell pepper;

  • ½ medium carrots;

  • 1 large tomato

  • 3 tbsp. l. vegetable oil;

  • paprika, turmeric, coriander, cumin, black pepper, salt (to taste).

Step 1. Thoroughly rinse the spelled and fill it with clean water. We leave it overnight or at least 4 hours.





Step 2. Cut the carrots and peppers into small cubes, disassemble the cauliflower into inflorescences. The tomato can be cut into larger cubes.





Step 3. Heat the oil in a saucepan or large skillet with thick walls and send the carrots and cauliflower there first. After 10 minutes add pepper. We wash the soaked spelled and put it in the pan too. Add 700 ml. water and simmer for about 30 minutes over medium heat. At the very beginning, vegetables can not be fried, but stewed with a little water.

Step 4. After 30 minutes, add chopped tomato and spices to the future spelled porridge. Mix thoroughly and simmer for another 10 minutes.





Step 5. Remove the pan from the heat and let the porridge brew for about 5 minutes. After that, you can add a little more oil and serve.





Glorious meal!

3. Spelled porridge with tofu and green pot







The indicated amount of ingredients is sufficient for two servings.


Ingredients:




  • spelled - 150 g ,

  • frozen green peas - 150 g

  • 150 g tofu,

  • 3 tbsp. tablespoons of vegetable oil

  • salt,

  • pepper.


Preparation:


Step 1. Rinse the dry spelled, add water and leave for 2 hours. After that, drain the water, and distribute the cereals saturated with water over the bottom of a wide and deep plate, cover with another plate on top so that there is free space between them. Leave to germinate for 10-12 hours.





Step 2. Rinse the cereals under running water and boil in plenty of salted water until tender. Approximately 30 minutes. Drain the water.





Step 3. Cut the tofu into cubes, fry in vegetable oil on all sides until golden brown.





Step 4. Add thawed green peas to the tofu.





Step 5. Add spelled to tofu and peas. Stir and heat for a few minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.





Delicious spelled porridge with green peas and tofu is ready!
